The Laws of Duplicate Bridge changed in August for
the first time in 10 years. We will put significant changes on this page over the next few months.
Tip of the Month for October: Insufficient Bids Many people are unaware that an insufficient bid may be accepted by the next player (LHO). If this happens, the bidding proceeds with no penalty. If LHO chooses not to accept the bid, the offender must make the bid good or his partner will have to pass for the rest of the Auction. However the detail of making the bid good is complex, so you should always call the Director before attempting to correct an insufficient bid. Tips of the Month for September:

In the event of a revoke, always call the Director for a ruling. Tip of the Month for JulyWhen a board is to be played, it should remain in
the centre of the table until play is complete. This allows players to see the
Vulnerability during play, and helps to avoid card
mixups producing 12 - 14 hands. After play, hands should be shuffled before
replacing them in the board.
