League Matches

Congratulations to the team who have won Division 3 of the Leicestershire County Bridge Association with one game still to play and will be promoted to Division 2 next season.

Web Site

Thanks to George Strang for his work on the Club’s new web site which can be viewed on www.ashbybridgeclub.co.uk/.   The site is updated regularly with all the Club news and it is hoped that all members who have Internet capability will make use of it.

EBU  Proposed Changes

We have received by email a 28 page document from the EBU which gives full details of their proposed changes.  They requested that the content of the document be made available to all club members.  The document has been forwarded to all members for whom we had an email address at the time of its receipt.  One copy has been printed and is available on request from the Chairman.

Annual Dinner and Presentation Night

Last years event was held at Willesley Park Golf Club and was a very successful evening.  The committee has agreed that we should use the same venue again this year and a booking has been made for Friday September 12th.  There will be a two-course meal with coffee and mints and the price will be about £10. It is hoped that more members will be accompanied by their spouses than was the case last year.

Membership

At the time of the last committee meeting membership stood at 68. A new membership list has been prepared and copies can be obtained on request from Derek Marshall.

Monday Night Attendance

There has been some improvement in Monday night attendance in recent weeks but not to the level that we get on Thursdays.  The situation will be reviewed at the next committee meeting and may be the subject of a resolution for discussion at the AGM.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM will be held on Monday 14th July.
